Quick trivia question: define “mamelon.” Some kind of warm blooded animal? No, not a member of the mammal clan, but good guess. A fruit of the gourd family? Nope! There are watermelons, honeydew melons, and cantaloupes, but no mamelons.

Mamelons are actually the rounded bumps on the edges of newly erupted incisors. They wear down naturally with use, but if they don’t, we can smooth them for a more even smile.
