Good Nutrition Leads to Healthy Mouths

At Teresa Kang, we know the most common oral health diseases are tooth decay and periodontal disease (or gum disease), and both are among the easiest to prevent. One of the most effective ways to prevent these diseases is a healthy diet.

A balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy, and lean proteins provides the nutrients your mouth needs to stay healthy.

Calcium and phosphorus (found in dairy products) help strengthen tooth enamel. Vitamin C (in citrus fruits and leafy greens) supports healthy gums. Crunchy fruits and vegetables increase saliva production, which helps wash away food particles and neutralize acids.

Limit sugary and acidic foods and drinks, which can contribute to tooth decay.

Good nutrition isn’t just good for your body—it’s great for your smile!
